Current Project- 3rd year of Research & Development of Flight Deck Tie Down Fittings (Tiedowns) for the Navy SBIR Phase II Contract

Burchell Professional Group is currently involved in its 3rd year of research, development, and testing of this highly innovative tiedown that is superior by all conceivable metrics compared to competitive designs. These tiedowns are welded to the flight decks of Navy Arleigh-Burke Class Destroyers. Unlike many other tiedowns currently on the market, these tiedowns have been designed by our engineering team to be impervious to seawater corrosion, they require no maintenance whatsoever, and they will outlast the marine vessel it is installed upon.

This project was such a success that Burchell Professional Group is currently in the 3rd year of research and development for these tiedowns and is currently working to further refine its design and research other potential manufacturing processes in order to prepare these tiedowns for commercialization to the general public as well as the government. Last year, during the Phase II contract period, the focus was primarily on research and development as well as specialized testing of the improved design and its feasibility.
